Collingwood Art Crawl and Collingwood Live & Original Music Initiative to Partner

Collingwood, ON – The Collingwood Art Crawl and a new event under the Collingwood Live & Original Music Initiative will partner up this September 22nd to support the continued growth and promotion of original art and music in Collingwood, from 6pm to 10pm in Downtown Collingwood.

The Collingwood Art Crawl is a free, self-guided art walk, featuring more than 100 artists at multiple venues set to live music, all in historic downtown Collingwood. Established in 2013, the inaugural Collingwood Art Crawl consisted of eight venues featuring 30 artists/musicians with an attendance of 300 in a two-hour event. Since that time it has grown each year with the 2017 event involving 50 venues, more than 100 artists/musicians and an attendance of 3,000 in a four-hour event.

In addition to the newly created Live & Original Music Crawl, this year will again include a variety of “Unmissable” elements throughout the Art Crawl, details of which will be announced closer to the date. Prior features have included a Battle of the Brushes, glass blowing demonstration, theatrical events and other art-related presentations. Following the Art Crawl, specific restaurants and bars will be designated as after-party venues with live music and great conversation! For more information on the Collingwood Art Crawl, follow us on Facebook or visit the website at Sponsorship opportunities and call-to-artist applications will be available shortly on both.

The Live & Original Music Crawl is new event being produced by the Town of Collingwood under the umbrella of the Collingwood Live & Original Music Initiative (L&O). L&O was launched in 2015 as a competition and workshop series that celebrated finding musical creativity and innovation at the grass-roots level. Evolving over time, today its purpose is to provide opportunities for music creators to connect, collaborate, and cultivate the development and sustainability of original music. In 2018, the initiative will feature a series of programs including L&O Music Lab Mondays, an L&O Music Forum, and the Art Crawl-partnered L&O Music Crawl.
