Election 2018 - Information for Voters

More information will be added as details become available.

The 2018 Municipal Election will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018. This election includes the election of Collingwood Council including the position of Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and seven Councillors, as well as school board trustees.

The Municipal Elections Act (MEA) is the legislation which governs the operation and administration of the municipal elections. The MEA has been updated with a number of changes, including key dates.

In the 2018 Municipal Election, Collingwood voters along with its neighbouring municipalities will cast their ballot using the Internet or Telephone. These methods provide flexibility, which allows for a longer voting period than traditional voting. It is also more convenient, more accessible, and better enables electors to exercise their right to vote. Results will be available sooner than the previous vote by mail voting system, with complete accuracy.
