NOTICE OF NOMINATION FOR OFFICE

Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (s.32)

           
NOTICE is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the Town of Collingwood
 
Nominations in the Town of Collingwood for the offices of the following positions to be elected at large may be made by completing and filing, with the Town Clerk or designate, nominations on the prescribed form.
 
Mayor (One Position)
Deputy Mayor (One Position)
Councillor (Seven Positions)
 
English Public School Board Trustee
French Public School Board Trustee
English Separate School Board Trustee
French Separate School Board Trustee
 
A nomination provided on the prescribed form must be signed by the candidate and may be filed in person or by an agent with the Clerk or designate at the Town Hall, 97 Hurontario Street, Collingwood at the following times:
 
January 4, 2010 to September 9, 2010 between 8:30am and 4:30pm
(Monday through Friday)
September 10, 2010 between 9:00am and 2:00pm (Nomination Day)
 
School Boards must provide election clerks with a copy of the Report of Determination and Distribution of School Board Members by no later than April 6, 2010
Education Act O. Reg. 412/00 s. 9(2)
 
The prescribed nomination filing fee of $100.00 per office/school board or $200.00 for the Office of the Mayor payable by cash, certified cheque or money order, shall accompany the nomination form. Forms are available at the Town Hall, Clerks Department located at 97 Hurontario Street, Collingwood. Faxed or emailed nomination forms will not be accepted.
 
In the event there are an insufficient number of certified candidates to fill all positions available, nominations will be reopened for the vacant positions only on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, between the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm and such additional nominations, if required, may be filed with the Clerk or designate at the Town Hall, 97 Hurontario Street, Collingwood.
 
Electors are hereby given notice that if a greater number of candidates are certified than are required to fill the said offices, an election will be held and voting will be conducted by a method to be determined. Notice of the voting method will be provided to all candidates and electors once determined.
 
VOTING DAY is Monday, October 25, 2010
