19 March 2018 –The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996, requires that municipalities, as organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario, disclose annually the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in a calendar year.

13 March 2018 – With the approval of the 2018 Budget at Monday’s Council meeting, the Town of Collingwood residents will see a minimal tax increase of approximately $1.55 per month.

Town taking on management of Simcoe Street Theatre

26 February 2018 - The Town of Collingwood can now add “Theatre Manager” to its list of services provided.
Recently, the Town was presented with the opportunity to assume management of the Simcoe Street Theatre (SST) owned by Rick and Anke Lex.

Council passes resolution to request judicial inquiry

26 February 2018 – On Monday, February 26, 2018, the Council of the Town of Collingwood passed a resolution to request a judicial inquiry be conducted, into the process undertaken in 2012 which resulted in the sale of 50% of Collus, the Town’s electric utility.
