A meeting of Council was held Monday May 5, 2014 in the Council Chambers, Town Hall, Collingwood commencing at 5:00pm.

Mr. Brian McDonald, Director of Public Works and Engineering, reviewed the concerns received from Mr. McGuire and explained the technical requirements that pertain to traffic matters within this vicinity.

PW2014-12 Award of Tender PW2014-03 - First St./Huron St. Road Widening

THAT Council receive Staff Report PW2014-12 entitled “Award of Tender PW2014-03 for First St/Huron St Road Widening”;
 
AND THAT Council award the Tender to Georgian Paving Limited for the tendered amount of $685,496.40 excluding HST; 
 
AND THAT Council authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign all necessary documents to execute the contract.

THAT Staff Report P2014-19, recommending Council enact and pass Part Lot Control Exemption By-law No. 2014-036 to allow 26 freehold townhome lots to be created on a proposed common element condominium road, all within Block 1 of Registered Plan 51M-984, be received.

COUNTY REPORT (County Council Update No. 65 and No. 66 attached)
Deputy Mayor Lloyd provided a review of matters being discussed at the County based on the March and April issues of County Council Update Newsletter including forestry and waste management initiatives.
 
OLD or DEFERRED BUSINESS
  • Mr. Peter Dunbar, Interim Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture provided a brief update on the status of the Eddie Bush Memorial Area flooring upgrades.
  • Councillor Lloyd requested an update on the Business Resource Centre.
