Wakeboard in Collingwood Harbour during Sidelaunch Days

3 August 2017 – The third annual Sidelaunch Days Festival will mark the first time wakeboarders can enjoy the beautiful, protected part of the Collingwood harbour, with the new SideRider Cable Wakeboarding experience.

Sidelaunch Days has teamed up with Boarder Pass Canada to offer this unique experience where cables are erected eight to 12 meters above the water, and the rider is pulled with an electric motor, capable of maintaining speeds up to 30 km/h – no boat needed.

Whether you’re an experienced wakeboarder just looking for a new view, or you’re trying it out for the first time, the SideRider Cable Wakeboarding park offers an exciting way to enjoy the Collingwood waterfront. The team from Boarder Pass Canada even offers a “get up guarantee” – if you don’t successfully get up on the wakeboard during your time on the water, you get your money back!

If you’re not up for the full wakeboarding experience, you can watch the pros show off their skills that thrill on the two in-water features. Shows take place at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m., on both Saturday and Sunday

Presented by Rockstar Energy and Boarder Pass Canada, the 15-minute shows will have wakeboarders throwing big flips and spins, including world-renowned pro rider Kevin Henshaw.

Tickets are $15, including taxes and all required equipment. Save $5 if you bring your own. Your ticket includes equipment fitting, a dry-land briefing on wakeboard fundamentals, and approximately 10 minutes out on the water.

Registration and ticket sales will be available at the information booth located at the corner of Sidelaunch Way and the southern entrance of the Promenade vendor walk. Limited time-slots are available each day and tickets are sold on a first-come-first-served basis, so get there early to purchase your tickets!

Sidelaunch Days takes place August 12 and 13. The SideRider experience runs 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. For full details of all events and activities, visit www.sidelaunchdays.ca.
