A meeting of the Corporate and Community Services Standing Committee will be held Monday October 2, 2017 in Community Rooms B & C, Library/Municipal Offices, 55 Ste. Marie Street, Collingwood commencing at 5:00pm.

  • THAT the Corporate and Community Services Standing Committee receive and refer the following minutes to the next regular meeting of Council:
a)    Collingwood Downtown BIA Board of Management, August 31 and September 14, 2017
b)    Trails Advisory Committee, September 14, 2017
 
8. STAFF REPORTS
 
CAO2017-04   Potential revenue from signage advertising on Town assets
 
RECOMMENDING THAT the Corporate and Community Services Standing Committee support and refer the following Staff Report to the next regular meeting of Council:
 
Staff Recommendation: THAT Council receive Staff Report CAO2017-04, recognizing that annual net revenue opportunities from signage advertising on Town assets are minimal;
 
AND FURTHER authorize staff to stop any initiatives currently underway to expand signage advertising to any new Town assets;
 
AND FURTHER identify up to $10,000 as an unmet need in the 2018 budget for a consultant to assist in developing the Town’s Advertising Policy including staff resources to recommend process improvements for advertising on existing assets.
 
FS2017-05      Revised Memorandum of Understanding Regarding the Simcoe County Hazardous Materials Incident Response Team
 
RECOMMENDING THAT the Corporate and Community Services Standing Committee support and refer the following Staff Report to the next regular meeting of Council:
 
Staff Recommendation: THAT Council authorize the Collingwood Fire Department to enter into a new agreement for Memorandum of Understanding Regarding the Simcoe County Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Incident Response Team.
 
PRC2017-07    Collingwood Art on the Street Update
 
RECOMMENDING THAT the Corporate and Community Services Standing Committee support and refer the following Staff Report to the next regular meeting of Council:
 
Staff Recommendation: THAT Council receive staff report PRC2017-07 entitled “Collingwood Art on the Street Update” for information.
 
PRC2017-08    Collingwood Elvis Festival Annual Review
 
RECOMMENDING THAT the Corporate and Community Services Standing Committee support and refer the following Staff Report to the next regular meeting of Council:
 
Staff Recommendation: THAT Council receives Staff Report PRC2017-08 entitled “Collingwood Elvis Festival Annual Review”;
 
AND FURTHER THAT Council approve the continuation of the Collingwood Elvis Festival for a two-year term with full understanding of the financial risks required to yield local economic impacts;
 
or,
 
THAT Council direct staff to cease production of the Collingwood Elvis Festival, develop an Expressions of Interest to disseminate in search of a potential third party festival promoter, and allocate budget formerly associated with the Collingwood Elvis estival to current, or new, PRC special event and festival activities.
 
PRC2017-09   Healthy Kids Community Challenge Extension
 
RECOMMENDING THAT the Corporate and Community Services Standing Committee support and refer the following Staff Report to the next regular meeting of Council:
 
Staff Recommendation: THAT Council receive the report PRC2017-09 entitled “Healthy Kids Community Challenge Extension” for information.
