The Georgian Bay Photography Club Meeting for November 9, 2017

Event Dates:
Nov 9th - 6:30 pm

The Georgian Bay Photography Club will meet on Thursday, November 9, 2017, in Collingwood at the Chartwell Georgian Traditions Retirement Residence (Theatre Room) at 57 Trott Blvd. starting at 6:30 pm. This will be our third meeting of the 2017-2018 program. Jim Desormeaux will give a presentation on “Pinnacle Studio software for Video Editing”. Our guest speaker will be Peter Van Rhijn. He spends much of his free time trying to capture nature's beauty to inspire others to share his passion and to help preserve nature. In addition to photographing, he produced and presented medium-format audio-visual presentations featuring nature photography. He has given many shows, not just across Canada but also in New England, Los Angeles, in Fort Myers (Florida), and many other places. He was sponsored by Fujifilm and was a member of the Fujifilm USA talent team. Stock Photography was a natural spin-off from all this activity. Peter’s images have been published in many books celebrating the beauty of nature, including: Endangered Spaces (Monte Hummel, WWF); The Last Wilderness (edited by Freeman Patterson); and Canada, These Things We Hold Dear - a Centennial Celebration (edited by Lorraine Monk). He joined the digital age early on and has not looked back. His goal is to continue to explore the ever-expanding opportunities of the digital world. He will give a presentation entitled “Intimate Landscapes”. The meeting is free for all members and non-members pay $10 at the door. For further information please go to www.gbpc.ca
