Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology Services, the System Support Assistant will assist in the development and support of technology services and provide support to this recently created division to ensure the needs of the organization’s staff are met.  This position will work closely with the System Support Coordinator and assist the division with special projects as required.  Projects during this work term may include assisting with a planned migration to Office 365 and documentation of policies and procedures.
 
Experience and Qualifications:
1.            Currently enrolled in a recognized post-secondary institution in Information Technology or a related discipline.
2.            Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
3.            Experience in Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy and associated Microsoft technologies.
4.            Experience with Microsoft Exchange is preferred.  Experience with GIS would be an asset.
5.            Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required and demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
6.            Ability to communicate effectively and provide training to users with varying levels of computer understanding.
7.            Valid Class ‘G’ Driver’s license and current Driver’s Abstract with results satisfactory to the Town.
8.            Possess a Police Information Check with results satisfactory to the Town and a valid standard first aid and CPR/AED Level C certificate (or willing to obtain).
