Draft PRC Master Plan To Be Shared At Upcoming Public Meeting

16 August 2018 – The Town's new Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan is almost ready! Join us on Wednesday, August 22 at a public meeting as we present the draft plan, and provide a high-level overview of some of the 100+ recommendations.

Wednesday, August 22  |  6pm - 8pm  |  3rd Floor, Collingwood Public Library

The plan is intended to be a vision for the development of parks, trails and the harbor, urban forestry, recreation facilities, arts & culture, and open spaces in Collingwood, as well as a tool to assist decision-making in the development and prioritization of facilities, programs and services.

Identified as an action item in the 2015 Community Based Strategic Plan (http://www.collingwood.ca/CBSP)  (CBSP), the updated PRC Master Plan will serve as a roadmap for the department for the next 10 years and will include an assessment of existing and future parkland needs.

Public input has formed a key part of the background to drafting the Master Plan. With several public meetings, open houses, and a survey, the public had many opportunities to share their vision for a healthy, creative and active community. The previous departmental Master Plan was drafted in 2008 when the department was known as Leisure Services.
