Wage range: $44,462.60 to $54,017.60 ($24.43 to $29.68 per hour) – under review
Hours of work: Thirty-five (35) hours per week, usually Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; however, this position may be assigned to an occasional evening or weekend shift to expand customer service hours
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Deputy Clerk, Customer Service Ambassadors perform various tasks associated with providing exceptional customer service and information to the public regarding all Town services.  The position responds to customer complaints and inquiries, researches information, liaises with internal staff and contracted service providers regarding investigations, then facilitates responses with the public accordingly.  This is a critical function to act as an ambassador for the Town in dealings with the public and display a positive image at all times.
This position is also responsible for handing payment transactions with customers, payment application, and initial customer inquiries regarding taxation.  These responsibilities may be expanded and evolve to include more service opportunities as required.  Main duties and responsibilities are in the areas of customer service support, cashier services, and other duties and responsibilities for the Department.
Experience and Qualifications:
1. Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent is required.  Post-secondary education in office administration, hospitality or business is preferred.
2. Completion of or enrolment in the Municipal Administration Program would be an asset.
3. Minimum of two (2) years in a front-line customer service role and previous experience handling larger volumes of money.  Proficient use of an adding machine is essential.
4. Excellent interpersonal, administrative, organizational and communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to deal effectively with stressful, conflict situations.
5. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) and finance software (e.g., Microsoft Great Plains).
6. Possess Police Information Check with results satisfactory to the Employer and a valid standard first aid and CPR/AED Level C certificate (or willing to obtain).
