Community Announcements:

  • Council give congratulations to the Collingwood Canadians U16 Girls Soccer Team on their amazing international tournament win in Agropoli, Italy!
  • Members of Council promoted the ag fair, the back to school dance at The Legion, Fisher Field Open House, crossing guard efforts, artist submissions, the Collingwood Colts, the Farmers Market, regional arts & culture, the Collingwood Art Crawl, and the Special Olympics banquet.

Consent Agenda:

  • Council approves proclamations for British Home Child Day, Pink Week, and National Breastfeeding Week.

Corporate & Community Services Standing Committee:

  • Council approved meeting minutes from the Accessibility Advisory Committee, Collingwood Downtown BIA Board of Management, Museum Advisory Committee, and the Trails Advisory Committee.
  • Council directs Staff to apply for the Simcoe County 2019 Economic Development Funding program, and if successful, to develop an implementation plan for a Business Accelerator program.

Staff Reports:

  • Council approves with amendments the additional expenditure of $32,500 to add drains to the floor of the Centennial Aquatics Centre change rooms.

Motions:

  • Council requests Staff to provide an unstructured street play report within the previously requested traffic calming report. Mayor Saunderson added that this will be an interesting opportunity and that the Town currently has no prohibition on street play.

Bylaws:

  • Council appoints a new member to the Collingwood Heritage Committee (Kelly Nesbitt)

Notice of Motion:

  • Mayor Saunderson gives notice of motion regarding the proceeds from the 2019 Mayor's Golf Tournament.

Other Business:

  • Martin Rydlo, Director of Marketing & Business Development, presents on the next Economic Development Action Plan.

In-Camera:

  • Council went in-camera to discuss a personnel matter.
