Hours of work: 35 per week, usually Monday through Friday with the requirement for evening, weekend and holiday hours; flexibility in scheduling is necessary
Work period:  June 3 – August 23 (12 weeks)

Note: This position is dependent upon funding through a Canada Summer Jobs grant and the successful candidate must meet the eligibility criteria as stated in the grant agreement.  The grant agreement will dictate the duration of this seasonal position (number of weeks and hours per week funded) and the status of the grant application is expected to be known in April.
 
Position Summary:
Implement and execute literacy-based programmes for children ages 2 to 5 years of age.  Provide educational and fun activities for children ages 2 to 5 years of age during the busy summer months.
 
Experience and Qualifications:
1. Post-Secondary Education (completed a minimum of one year in child centered discipline).
2. Emotionally mature and willing to accept responsibility.
3. Must have a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office
4. Ability to work and communicate well with a variety of age groups.
5. Valid Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C certificate
6. Other certificates or experience include:  involvement in different activities, and experience working with children/youth 2-5 years of age.
7. Vulnerable Sector check with results satisfactory to the Town.
