Georgian Triangle Humane Society Open House

On Saturday, April 28, 2012, from 12 noon to 4 p.m., the Georgian Triangle Humane Society will host area Mayors, Town Council Members, GTHS Board Members, volunteers and supporters for a celebration and building dedication ceremony.

The Georgian Triangle Humane Society has recently completed all construction of their permanent home due to generous donations from individuals and local businesses. The new building is being dedicated to the memory of one such donor and will be named “The Justin and Eileen Cork Animal Centre”.

The building dedication ceremony will take place at 549 Tenth Line, Collingwood at 2 p.m. on Saturday April 28. The Georgian Triangle Humane Society is hosting the Open House from 12 Noon to 4 p.m. in celebration of the opening and as a thank you to the community for their generous support. Board members and volunteers will be on hand to provide tours of the facility and explain how the building functions to provide care and love to the animals. And, the animals will be on hand to extend their paws to say how much they love their accommodations! Many people will be pleasantly surprised by the community cat and kitten rooms. GTHS is proud to be one of a very few shelters in Canada to provide a cage-free environment for the cats available for adoption.

Visitors will also be able to learn about volunteer opportunities, upcoming events and visit with the animals. Refreshments will be served.
