NOTICE:
WHEREAS the Municipal Act 2001, S.O. 2001, Section 11(3) and Section 103(1), provides that the municipality may pass by-laws respecting matters within the following spheres of jurisdiction: (9)Animals, including regulating and prohibiting with respect to the being at large and trespassing of animals;For a complete version of this document, including all related materials, download the attached PDF:

AND WHEREAS Council has deems it expedient to amend By-law No. 98-74, being a By-law for the identification and regulation of cats;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF COLLINGWOOD HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That Section 1.0 – Definitions be amended to:
1.5 “Dog” means a male or female dog over the age of six (6) months;
3. That Section 3.0 – Licencing of Dogs be amended to:
3.1 Every dog owner shall, on or before the 15th day of February in each and every year, or upon becoming the owner of a dog after the 15th day of February, register such dog or dogs with the Town Clerk or his/her designate or with the Animal Control Officer, pay the prescribed fee as per Schedule ‘A’ and procure a metal dog tag bearing the year in which it was issued, for each dog owned, up to the allowable maximum of two(2) dogs.
5. That Section 5.0 – Fees for Dog Licences be amended to:
Yearly fees payable as described in Schedule ‘A’.
6. That Section 6.0 – Kennel Licencing be amended to:
6.1 No person shall operate a kennel without, on or before the 30th day of January in each year or upon the commencement of the operation of a kennel after the 30th of January in each year, first applying for and obtaining a kennel licence an paying the prescribed fee in Schedule ‘A’ to the Corporation of the Town of Collingwood.
6.4 No person or persons shall keep more than two (2) dogs over the age of six (6) months at one location unless a kennel license is obtained
