The mandate of the Sustainability Committee is to research and develop recommendations, guidelines and policies which garner or take advantage of sustainability opportunities for the municipality. For these purpuses sustainability is defined as:

"The utilitization of our municipality and other resources to meet community needs and aspirations, and best optimize the unique nature of the community, without compromising the well being of future generations"

The Committee meets the first Friday of each month at 8:00a.m. in the Braniff Room.

Current Projects/Initiatives:

• Developing a communication plan
• Inclusion of Sustainability Decision Matrix into staff reports
• Work plans completed on the Sustainable Community Plan and its relationship to the Strategic Plan
