Healthcare Services

Collingwood General & Marine Hospital

One of Collingwood’s greatest strengths is its integrated network of healthcare services that support the well-being of the community. The Collingwood General and Marine Hospital provides a variety of health care services to the more than 60,000 people who live and work in the community.  The hospital also provides essential health care services to more than 3.5 million vacationers and cottagers who visit the communities of Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Stayner, Creemore and the Blue Mountains. In 2014 the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital welcomed the arrival of a new digital mammography unit to assist with the screening and diagnosis of breast cancer.

The Georgian Bay Family Health Team

This regional, patient-centered, primary health care team is set up to provide exceptional collaborative care to help improve the overall health of the Georgian Bay population. Find out which doctors are accepting new patients, and how to access the local free walk-in clinic.

Hospice Georgian Triangle

Collingwood is also fortunate to host Hospice Georgian Triangle, a registered charity that provides trained volunteer and professional care and support to individuals living with life-limiting illness, to their families and to the bereaved. Hospice Georgian Triangle operates as an integral partner of the health care system to ensure that palliative patients are treated with love, respect and receive compassionate care. Services include Campbell House, which provides residential end-of-life care, a home visiting program, and bereavement group sessions.

Rural Ontario Medical Program

The Rural Ontario Medical Program works with Collingwood to create partnerships between rural healthcare services and educational medical programs, to enhance local medical services, and to establish long-term placements for physicians in rural areas. The program creates learning opportunities outside the academic centres in small communities, and promotes mentorship and learning in a rural setting.

The new eDoctorcare located in Collingwood offers a simple concept. Seeing a family doctor from the comfort of your home. They believe it is the future of healthcare and are proud to be a part of it.  Providing only fully licensed and vetted doctors, open after hours as well, and an innovative online booking system means patients can book online and usually see a doctor the same day. At present, they are seeing patients virtually only right now - ie. by phone or video. Patients can choose their preferred means of contact. They do have a long term plan to make themselves physically available as well, but a lot will be determined by how the pandemic pans out.
