Bring home the fun of the Collingwood Museum with their summer activity kits!
The Collingwood Museum is excited to announce the upcoming rollout of children’s activity kits this summer. Designed for children ages 6-12, the heritage-inspired kits include craft materials, activity pages, opportunities for outdoor exploration, and a surprise from the Museum gift shop.
A new activity kit theme will be released every other week throughout July and August. With a focus on celebrating a love for Collingwood, the themes will include: The Land We Love (July 5-17), The Community We Love (July 19-30), The Water We Love (August 2-13), and The Art We Love (August 16-27). Through these themes, children will explore all that Collingwood has to offer while learning some interesting historical tidbits about our community along the way.
The Land We Love Activity Kit will be available for pick-up by appointment between July 5 and July 17. With this exciting kit, nature is your canvas! Craft materials are supplied for three vibrant crafts: a painted rock, clay creation, and a wooden forest friend. In addition to a fun Sunset Point scavenger hunt and activity sheets, the kit also includes a geode for participants to crack open to reveal the beautiful mineral deposits inside.
The Summer Activity Kits were developed in response to the overwhelming success of the Museum’s Spring Break Craft Kits as well as the positive feedback provided in a recent survey that confirmed the interest in summer take-home activities.
Kits are available by a suggested donation of $10. Starting June 28, kits may be reserved for curbside pick-up by calling 705-445-4811 Ext. 7211. Quantities are limited and kits are on a first-come-first-serve basis. Call today to get in on the fun!
