Celebrate On The Water We Love in Collingwood
The Town of Collingwood presents On The Water We Love, a multi-week event, August 5th to September 1st, that invites you to take a journey of discovery and recognition of life-giving water along Collingwood's shoreline. Through this journey you can explore water-based themes of ecosystems, industry, recreation, access, safety, and conservation.
On The Water We Love kicks off August 5-7 with the return of our Sidelaunch Days Festival. Sidelaunch Days is Collingwood’s annual harbourfront festival that celebrates the joy of being in, on, and around the water while commemorating the unique shipbuilding heritage of Collingwood. Activities include Tall Ship deck tours, stand-up paddle board (SUP) Races, free kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding, outdoor concerts, and more. Visit www.sidelaunchdays.ca for all the details.
On rainy days between August 8th and September 1st, don’t shy away from the Promenade. Grab your umbrella and look for Water Marks; messages and art on the sidewalk that only appear when it's wet! These stenciled designs are environmentally safe and engaging for all ages.
On each Friday evening beginning August 12th, take in a new series entitled Friday Evening Promenade Performances. Spend a relaxing Friday evening strolling Collingwood’s picturesque Promenade, taking in live musical performances against the backdrop of gorgeous Georgian Bay. Challenge a friend, neighbour, or a fellow ‘stroller’ to a game of Corn Hole along the way. Friday Evening Promenade Performances take place August 12, 19, 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Check out these fantastic performers:
