The Town of Collingwood is asking residents for feedback on the compensation and composition of Council.

The Town has engaged an external consulting firm, Compensation Governance Partners, to study the compensation and composition of its Town Council, specifically its Mayor, Deputy Mayor and 7 Councillors. The purpose of the study is to determine how Collingwood compares to other municipalities of similar size, complexity and/or budget regarding matters that Council considers, and/or nearby municipalities in terms of council size, compensation, and the part-time status of their roles. Do these factors impact the quality and number of candidates that may be considering running for Council. If should be noted that any recommendations pertaining to potential changes to the number of council members cannot be implemented until the 2026 Municipal Election.

As part of this study, Collingwood is conducting a survey designed to obtain feedback from residents about these topics. The survey should take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
