HOT TOPIC 2:
BACK TO BUSINESS 7 STEP CHECKLIST

Last week Council approved the recommendations developed by the 14-person Collingwood Economic Support & Recovery Task Force.  The 6 Action Items recommended by the Task Force include Action Item#2 focused on “Business Support & Recovery Services”.  As a result the Town, together with the business partners at the The Business Development Centre (BDC), has launched a 7 Step Checklist to help companies Get Ready For Back to Business:

1.    Start by Creating a Plan with the BDC Experts
2.    Review Sector Specific Re-Opening Resources
3.    Prepare Appropriate Safety Measures
4.    Become Aware of Symptom Monitoring and Testing Protocols
5.    Implement Store Specific Safety Practices
6.    Promote ‘Shop Safely’ Principles
7.    Seek Financial Advice and Support

This checklist is an easy to use, streamlined set of resources to give you the most relevant information and sector-specific toolkits to help your business re-open and recover.  It includes a “Shop Safely” poster to put in your stores and restaurants that is being adopted by the South Georgian Bay region.  As always, the Partners are available to provide advice and help you find the right resources.

LET THE TOWN KNOW YOUR BUSINESS MATTERS

Every year the Town conducts a survey of the business community.  This year is perhaps more important than ever given what’s happened and the economic recovery efforts the Town is implementing to help your business.  But the Town needs to know if these efforts are working and what your longer term perspective on business in Collingwood is so it can continue making the right kinds of investments.

This Thursday you will be receiving this annual Your Business Matters Survey via an email from SurveyMonkey.  Please watch for it and complete the survey by July 14.  It’s less than 7 minutes to complete.
