Community Announcements:

  • Members of Council promoted County garbage changes, Sweethearts Bonspiel for Out of the Cold, Galentine's Day for My Friend's House, International Women's Day, Coldest Night of the Year, Collingwood Colts Playoffs, Skating Club Carnival, BMFA Monster Project event, Dr. Jean Augustine speaking event, Sledge Hockey on Family Day, Inclusive Skating on Sundays, Whiskylicious, and Colts Give-A-Lift for Sunset Manor. 
  • Collingwood Heritage Committee Chair Betty Donaher recognizes Heritage Week.

Deputations:

  • ACO's Margaret Mooy presented on Heritage Week and opportunities.
  • My Friend's House's Julie Leblanc presented on violence against women and the Red Shoe Walk event.

Corporate and Community Services Standing Committee:

  • Council approved:
    • Minutes from the BIA, Museum, and Trails Advisory Committees.
    • Urban Forest Management Plan
    • Memorial Tree/Bench Policy
    • IT Steering Committee Update
    • Harbourview Park and Sunset Point Park Update

Strategic Initiatives Standing Committee:

  • Council approved:
    • Water and Wastewater Rate Study
    • interim appointment of Deputy Mayor Hull as member of the Collingwood BIA Board. Mayor Saunderson will also attend BIA Meetings.

Motions:

  • Council reaffirmed and commited to adhere to the Council Code of Conduct.

County Report:

  • Deputy Mayor Hull reported on County highlights, Homelessness prevention and Youth transitional housing funding, and Property funding for Youth Haven.

Other Business:

  • Council reviewed and discussed the prioritization of bundled Pending List items.
  • Councillor Berman commented on attendance and expenses notifications.
  • Council went In-Camera to discuss the Huntingwood Appeal.
