Inspiration and Advocacy showcased with Panel Discussion, Flag Raising Ceremony, and Community Social

The Town of Collingwood's second annual International Women's Day events will bring the people of Collingwood and the surrounding communities together to inspire and advocate for the advancement of gender equality.

Starting on Thursday, March 5, there will be a Flag Raising Ceremony & Community Social at the Collingwood Public Library at 1:00 PM. The Community Social will include music, poetry, and free refreshments. All are welcome to attend. Tickets are now available for the International Women's Day 2020 Panel Discussion & Networking Social on Sunday, March 8 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Simcoe Street Theatre. The event seeks to inform and inspire all genders while exploring what it means to be a gender equal world.

Our discussion panelists will celebrate women's achievement, raise awareness against bias, and take action for equality. Proceeds from this event will be donated to My Friend's House. Tickets will be $15 and if cost is prohibitive to anyone wishing to participate, please contact anorris@collingwood.ca.

Child Care Option 
The Collingwood Museum is offering a free two-hour program for children ages 6-12 in the Free Schools World Literacy Room at the Collingwood Public Library to coincide with this year's International Women's Day Panel Discussion and Networking Social. This program is limited to children accompanying ticket holders. Program participants are required to dress for weather and are encouraged to bring a nut-free snack and beverage. Pre-registration and a signed waiver form are required for participation. Space is limited, so don't delay. Register today by emailing anorris@collingwood.ca
