NOTICE of the Adoption of an Official Plan Amendment

TAKE NOTICE that on the 25th day of November, 2019 the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Collingwood passed By-law No. 2019-077 pursuant to Section 17 and Section 21 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P. 13, as amended. By-law No. 2019-077 is a by-law to adopt Official Plan Amendment No. 44 which makes changes to the Town of Collingwood Official Plan (2004).

The proposed Official Plan Amendment pertains to approximately 7.4 ha (18.3 ac) of lands legally described as Blocks 1, 2, 3 & 4, Plan 51M-1049, Town of Collingwood, all being located within the Balmoral Village Plan of Subdivision. 

THE PURPOSE of the proposed Official Plan Amendment is to revise Official Plan policies that are specific to the Balmoral Village Plan of Subdivision. 

THE EFFECT of the proposed Official Plan Amendment is to increase the maximum number of residential dwelling units permitted in Balmoral Village.  The proposed Official Plan Amendment would;

1. Increase the maximum number of residential dwelling units for the whole of Balmoral Village from 300 units to 313 units, and

2. Increase the maximum number of residential dwelling units for the Balmoral Village Medium Density Residential - Mixed Use blocks (being Blocks 2, 3 & 4) from 210 units to 217 units.

Effect of Written and Oral Submissions on Decision: Public comments, as summarized in the Planning staff report, were considered as part of the decision making process.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION regarding Official Plan Amendment No. 44 and its proposed changes to the Town of Collingwood Official Plan (2004) is available to the public for inspection at the Town of Collingwood Planning Services located at 55 Ste. Marie Street, Collingwood, Ontario, Monday to Friday between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM.

Be advised that Council for the Town of Collingwood has forwarded Official Plan Amendment No. 44 to the Council of the County of Simcoe (as the approving authority) for its review, and if deemed appropriate, to approve Official Plan Amendment No. 44.

Any person or public body will be entitled to receive notice of the decision of the approval authority if a written request to be notified of the decision (including the person’s or public body’s address, fax number or email address) is made to the approval authority.  The name and address of the approval authority for Official Plan Amendment No. 44 is:
