Notice of Complete Application Concerning a Proposed Official Plan Amendment

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Collingwood has received an application for an Official Plan Amendment under Sections 17 and 22 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P. 13, as amended. This application has been deemed to be a complete submission under Section 22(6.1) of the Planning Act.
A public meeting to hear the planning merits of this application has not yet been scheduled.
The proposed Official Plan Amendment pertains to approximately 7.4 ha (18.3 ac) of lands legally described as Blocks 1, 2, 3 & 4, Plan 51M-1049, Town of Collingwood, all being located within the Balmoral Village Plan of Subdivision.
THE PURPOSE of the proposed Official Plan Amendment is to revise Official Plan policies that are specific to the Balmoral Village Plan of Subdivision. THE EFFECT of the proposed Official Plan Amendment is to increase the maximum number of residential dwelling units permitted in Balmoral Village. The proposed Official Plan Amendment would;
1. Increase the maximum number of residential dwelling units for the whole of Balmoral Village from 300 units to 314 units, and
2. Increase the maximum number of residential dwelling units for the Balmoral Village Medium Density Residential - Mixed Use blocks (being Blocks 2, 3 & 4) from 210 units to 218 units.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Official Plan Amendment.
If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the County of Simcoe to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Collingwood before the proposed official plan amendment is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Collingwood before the proposed official plan amendment is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
