NOTICE - Official Plan Amendment No. 42
TAKE NOTICE that on the 29th day of April, 2019 the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Collingwood passed By-law No. 2019-033 pursuant to Section 17 and Section 21 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P. 13, as amended. By-law No. 2019-033 is a by-law to adopt Official Plan Amendment No. 42 which makes changes to the Town of Collingwood Official Plan (2004).
Official Plan Amendment No. 42 is primarily a Town-wide amendment and affects more than one parcel of land. In addition, Official Plan Amendment No. 42 includes specific provisions that apply only to 500 Ontario Street. No key map accompanies this Notice.
THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of Official Plan Amendment No. 42 is to create a policy to implement the Source Protection Plans that are applicable to the Town of Collingwood. These Plans include the South Georgian Bay Lake Simcoe Source Protection Plan and the Saugeen, Grey Sauble, North Bruce Peninsula Source Protection Plan. In accordance with Section 40 of the Clean Water Act, the Town of Collingwood is required to amend its Official Plan to conform to the Source Protection Plans.
An additional purpose of Official Plan Amendment No. 42 is to revise the potentially contaminated sites policy for the Town of Collingwood. The Amendment revises the current policy applicable to potentially contaminated sites so that some assurance is provided that the soil condition of land is protective of human health and the environment based on the intended use of the land.
An additional purpose of Official Plan Amendment No. 42 is to re-insert a special policy for 500 Ontario Street to permit a medical clinic as an additional permitted use on the subject property.
An additional purpose of Official Plan Amendment No. 42 is to provide a clearer description of how the Town calculates minimum and maximum densities.
Effect of Written and Oral Submissions on Decision: Public comments, as summarized in the Planning Staff Report, were considered as part of the decision-making process.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION regarding Official Plan Amendment No. 42 and its proposed changes to the Town of Collingwood Official Plan (2004) is available to the public for inspection at the Town of Collingwood Planning Services offices located at 55 Ste. Marie Street, Collingwood, Ontario, Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Be advised that Council for the Town of Collingwood has forwarded Official Plan Amendment No. 42 to the Council of the County of Simcoe (as the approving authority) for its review, and if deemed appropriate, to approve Official Plan Amendment No. 42.
Any person or public body will be entitled to receive notice of the decision of the approval authority if a written request to be notified of the decision (including the person’s or public body’s address, fax number or email address) is made to the approval authority.
