It is with sincere sadness, to learn of the loss of Queen Elizabeth II earlier today. Having just celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, on June 2nd of this year, a unique milestone in our history, she served as our longest reigning monarch for 70 years. She was a cherished Sovereign who will live long in the hearts of Canadians and fellow Commonwealth kin.

The Canada flag at Town Hall and all other municipal facilities have been lowered to half mast and Town Crier, Ken Templeman will be performing a cry at the North end of Maple Street tonight at 7:00 p.m., in Her Majesty’s honour.

On behalf of Council and the Town of Collingwood, our sincere condolences to the Royal Family.

Mayor Keith Hull
