Sunset Point Park Remediation Expected To Be Completed By June 1
The park remains closed until further notice.
The Town of Collingwood has been rehabilitating Sunset Point Park and trails after high water levels and storm debris caused damage, slides, sinkholes, and flooding. If weather cooperates, this remediation work is expected to be completed by Monday, June 1. Stay tuned for announcements in June about the park re-opening.
Sunset Point Park will remain closed until remediation work is complete. Please stay clear and respect all signage and barricades in place. Please also stay clear of freshly seeded grass in the park. The Parks, Recreation, and Culture Department, along with By-law Enforcement, will continue to monitor conditions at Sunset Point Park and other shoreline parks in Collingwood. Please continue to exercise caution on all shorelines and waterfront trails in the Town of Collingwood.
An alternative trail loop has been established on the roadway adjacent to Sunset Point Park. Please observe and respect barricades and pylons in place. There are also over 60 km of trails to enjoy around Collingwood.
With recent Provincial announcements, the Town has opened the boat launch, dog parks, tennis courts, soccer fields, and baseball fields for individual recreational use. Please exercise physical distancing so to limit the spread of COVID-19. Washrooms and change rooms are not available at this time, so please plan ahead
Collingwood playgrounds, skatepark, and basketball courts remain closed until further notice.
