Environmental charity Georgian Bay Forever is expanding its “Divert and Capture” program of installing filter devices to washing machines to divert millions of pieces of microfibre pollution from entering waterways every day and posing a risk to the aquatic food chain.

With help from the Town of Collingwood and a contribution from Environment and Climate Change Canada, The W. Garfield Weston Foundation and other concerned supporters, Georgian Bay Forever is looking for an additional 300 Collingwood households to volunteer to receive a free washing machine filter to divert pollution from the water and participate in drawing attention and action towards reducing this contamination.

We’ve got some tremendous things to do, experience and buy that locals don’t know about.”
