"It is important to note that many patients who test positive for COVID-19 will not require hospitalization. Inpatient hospital beds must also be available for patients having other non-COVID related acute conditions. Self-isolation at home, following strict Public Health guidelines will be appropriate for a large number of these patients who will be confirmed in the coming days and weeks."

NOTICE – Temporary Preventative Measures for Collingwood Transit Services

Effective Friday, March 20, Collingwood and Blue Mountains Transit passengers are asked to board and exit buses using the back doors. Passengers with accessibility needs can continue to use the front doors for boarding and exiting, but are asked to limit their interactions and maintain physical separation from bus operators.

Collingwood Transit will not be accepting cash fares or paper transfers from passengers boarding at the back of the bus, and passengers will not be required to tap their transit passes at this time.

Only use the transit system for essential and necessary travel. Please exercise social distancing and self-isolation. Do not board the bus if you are experiencing symptoms such as cough, fever, or difficulty breathing.

County of Simcoe declares COVID-19 emergency

Today, March 18, 2020 at 3:00 PM, County of Simcoe Warden George Cornell has declared an emergency as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic developments in our region.

Declaring an emergency affords the County additional powers to protect the health and safety of all individuals, families and businesses as well as the vulnerable populations that we serve. This declaration also aligns with the Government of Ontario's Declaration of Emergency made March 17, 2020.

This temporary closure is part of the Town of Collingwood’s proactive efforts to help get ahead of COVID-19 and to protect Residents and Staff. Town Parks & Trails remain open. Please obey any signs and barricades. Please exercise Social Distancing and Self-Isolation.

NOTICE - Collingwood Transit Operations Continue March 16 to 21

The Town of Collingwood will continue to operate Public Transit this week (March 16 to 21) with normal service hours and routes unless notified otherwise. The Town of Collingwood is in contact with other local transit agencies as well as transit agencies within the GTHA to determine the status of operations of transit. Currently, transit services within the province are still in operation, with larger transit agencies reducing service in some areas. The TTC has advised that Toronto Public Health considers public transit as Low-Risk for contacting Covid-19, however, it is recommended that public transit be used only if absolutely necessary. The Town will follow the direction of local health officials if the risk of riding public transit changes.

NOTICE - Town Hall Facility Closed, Contact Us Online For Services

Please take notice that the Town Hall facility and all in-person Customer Service Desks are now closed until further notice. The Town will continue to offer services online and over the phone.

The Town’s critical and essential services, including fire services, drinking water & wastewater treatment, snow clearing, enforcement of priority bylaws, and essential customer services will continue.
