Join the Puzzle Walk Challenge, the newest part of the Town of Collingwood’s new local campaign, GO Get Out.  If you have ever been on a scavenger hunt, you will understand the idea behind Puzzle Walks. The big difference is that it’s all hands-free and outdoors: a great way to go get out safely, on a self-guided walk using GooseChase, a smartphone app where you’ll find the first four Collingwood Puzzle Walks: Dare To Dream, High Society, Where The Skies Are Blue and Waves Of Fortune. Take a walk through town, find clues, discover local history, and solve a puzzle with your bubble! Complete each walk and win prizes of up to $250 from local retailers.

Town of Collingwood Prepares for Red - Control Zone Status

​The Ontario government has announced that Simcoe Muskoka will be moving into Red - Control zone at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020, under the province's colour-coded COVID-19 safety framework. The restrictions will remain in place for at least 28 days, after which the government will reassess public health measures to determine the zone status.

Red zone is causing changes to library services

On Monday, December 14 the Collingwood Public Library will be altering their services due to the change is COVID zoning from the Provincial Government.  

“Due to the change in regional zoning, we have decided to alter some of our services,” says Chief Executive Officer, Ken Haigh. “This is to ensure the safety of our patrons and staff in the coming weeks.”

This Christmas season all kids (big and small) will have an opportunity to visit with Santa in his big sleigh when he comes to downtown Collingwood on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons.  It is with great pleasure that we announce that Santa will be available for all to give him their wish lists in his big red sleigh, in front of the Federal Building (44 Hurontario Street) beside the beautiful Christmas Tree.

Town of Collingwood Volunteers Needed to Receive Free Washing Machine Filters

Environmental charity Georgian Bay Forever (GBF) has expanded its Divert and Capture program in the Town of Collingwood. The program invites residents to install filter devices on washing machines to divert millions of pieces of pollution from entering waterways and posing a risk to the aquatic food chain from washing clothes.

The Town's essential and emergency services (snow plowing, transit, fire, police, by-law) will continue to operate during the holidays.

Town services will return to normal schedule on Monday, January 4, 2021. Please review specific location and closure times for each facility. 

Please note that Transit Passes may be purchased on the bus or at the Collingwood Public Library.

Mark your calendars for each Friday evening in December to experience the tradition of the outdoor Christmas Market in beautiful downtown Collingwood. Starting on Friday, December 4 and continuing each Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. until December 18, the downtown will come alive with lights, entertainment, food and fun.

Town of Collingwood Resumes Accessible Taxi Service

As of December 3, 2020, the Collingwood Accessible Taxi service will be back in full operation for the members of the community.  On November 23, 2020 Council Resolved to approach Ace Cabs to negotiate a short-term agreement to continue the operations of the Accessible Taxi service in the short term.
