Starting February 3, 2020, garbage and recycling collection will occur on alternating weeks, while green bin collection will continue every week. During the week of February 3 to 7, residents will receive garbage and green bin collection only. The following week (February 10 to 14), residents will receive recycling and green bin collection only. Collections will alternate on this schedule moving forward. Collection days are not changing; however, collection times will be adjusted. Residents are reminded to have materials out to their curb by 7:00 AM on their regular collection day.
Your emergency survival kit should have everything you and your family would need to be safe and take care of yourselves for at least three days immediately following an emergency.
The Collingwood Fire Department reminds all residents to clear the snow and ice from vents and natural gas meters.
The 2020 Draft Budget is now available on Engage Collingwood for public review and input. Join the conversation at the “Coffee with Council” Open House on Tuesday, December 10 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Town Hall Council Chambers. This event offers an opportunity for public discussion on the needs, challenges, and opportunities within our community.
The Depave Project is underway at Heritage Park, and five fruit trees were planted at the project site on Monday, November 25. The Town of Collingwood has partnered with the Environmental Network on this Depave Project, and is using the Depave Paradise - Green Communities Canada program grant and the Frank Cowan Company Home Town Program grant to accomplish some helpful park features.
Please take notice that Friday Night Swimming at the Centennial Aquatic Centre is cancelled for Friday, December 6. The Aquatic Centre will close at 6:30 PM on Friday, December 6, and will be open again at the regular time of 8:00 AM on Saturday, December 7.
On Tuesday, December 10, 2019, The Town of Collingwood will be hosting a “Coffee with Council” Open House event to have meaningful two-way discussions on some of the major initiatives that are underway in the municipality. The public is invited to join Council and Staff in informal conversation and information gathering from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Town Hall Council Chambers.
Please take notice that the Collingwood Museum will be temporarily closed on Wednesday, December 4 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM for a staff meeting. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Please take notice that the Aquatic Centre was closed on Sunday, December 1 due to a mechanical issue that was resolved by Monday, December 2. The Centennial Aquatic Centre is now operational and following the normal swim schedule. Please take notice that temperatures in the Main Pool are currently colder than usual, and are expected to return to normal levels for Tuesday, December 3.
Please take notice of the following service disruptions at the Centennial Aquatic Centre in the month of December.
- On Sunday, December 1, public programs will be cancelled from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM due to a training course happening at the pool.
- On Sunday, December 8, all public programs will be cancelled due to an all-day event.
