The Town is seeking submissions from Collingwood-based artists, for the cover of the 2020 Mayor’s Annual Holiday Greeting card. The deadline for submissions is Friday, October 30, 2020.
The Order of Collingwood is an annual time-honoured tradition recognizing exemplary volunteerism within the community by people who improve social, well-being, natural or cultural environment, or recreational character of the Town of Collingwood.
Orange Shirt Day, an annual event that is recognized on September 30, brings communities together to honour the experiences of former students and survivors of the residential school system and raise awareness of the tragic legacy of residential schools.
Regional Business Development Centre Receives $75,000 Digital Main Street Grant
Collingwood, ON [Tuesday, September 22, 2020] - The Town of Collingwood and the South Georgian Bay Small Business Enterprise Centre have received a $75,000 grant from Digital Main Street Ontario, funded by FedDev Ontario. This grant will extend their Digital Service Squads (DSS) to help small businesses use digital technologies to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
ATTENDU QUE: la "Journée des Franco-Ontariens", adoptée à l'unanimité par l'Assemblée législative de l'Ontario il y a 10 ans maintenant, le 26 avril 2010 et le 25 septembre, marque la date du premier lever de drapeau franco-ontarien à l'Université de Sudbury en 1975;
WHEREAS: "Franco-Ontarians Day" as passed unanimously by the Legislative Assembly of Ontario 10 years ago now, on April 26, 2010 and September 25th marks the date of the first Franco-Ontarian flag raising at the University of Sudbury in 1975;
September 22 is World Car Free Day, where cities all over the world encourage motorists to leave their car at home for the day. Studies showed that for short trips in cities, one can reach destinations more quickly using a bicycle rather than using a car.
WHEREAS, World Alzheimer’s Day takes place annually on September 21st and is a day on which organizations dedicated to fighting Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias can raise awareness about this cause; and
Every year, the health unit works with local veterinarians to arrange low-cost rabies clinics for animals in Simcoe Muskoka. These clinics occur in the fall and we encourage you to take advantage of them if your dog or cat was not vaccinated during a routine veterinary visit. Please note the following:
- a current rabies vaccination is required by law in Ontario for all dogs, cats, and ferrets;
- clinics assist with increasing the number of vaccinated animals in Simcoe Muskoka; and
- they help reduce the risk of potential rabies exposures to humans

The Collingwood Museum is excited to announce that a recent partnership with Rogers tv will result in a broadcast of archival shipyard footage throughout the month of September.
Saturday, September 12, 2020 marks the 34th anniversary of the Collingwood Shipyards’ closure and would have been the date for the Museum’s flagship community event, the annual Shipyard Social.
