As part of the 2020 municipal budget proceedings, Collingwood Council approved the continuation of what had been a two-year theatre management pilot project. Renewed for an additional three years (pending annual budget approvals) the Town of Collingwood through the Parks, Recreation & Culture (PRC) Department will continue to manage the 100-seat black box Simcoe Street Theatre as tenants of 65 Simcoe Street, owned by Richard and Anke Lex.
The Town of Collingwood is offering an additional Public Swim time on Friday, February 21 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Centennial Aquatic Centre. Regular admission fees and policy will be in effect. At the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena, there will be Shinny Hockey for High School aged kids from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM and for Elementary School aged kids from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. Admission for Shinny is $5 per person and full equipment is required.
Hidden among the trees along the Train Trail beside Central Park Arena is a series of forest creatures. Can you find the wise owls keeping watch, or the mischievous squirrels playing in the trees? Forest creatures of all kinds are hiding in the trees along the pathway! Use your flashlight or mobile phone light to spot them in the woods and keep track of your progress on the game card!
As per the Town of Collingwood By-law No. 2012-068, commencing March 1 and ending April 30 unless otherwise advised through notification, load restrictions are in effect on most roads in the Town of Collingwood. Some of these exceptions are Hurontario Street, Highway 26 Connecting Link, and other roads leading into the Industrial areas. Should axle weight restrictions be in effect, signage will be posted on the road.
