As in previous years, the parade will be held in the early evening to capture all the magic of our downtown holiday lights. Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 16, beginning at 5 p.m., and plan to join the fun!
This year’s parade will be part of a fun-filled day in Downtown Collingwood as we officially launch the holiday season. Enjoy the many merchant Open Houses … carolers on the street…. strolling entertainers … plus lots more, including the traditional “lighting” of the town Christmas Tree.
Now in its 4th year, the Collingwood Christmas Market has become a must attend tradition for the region as well as the tourist and visiting friends and family consumer. Held each Friday evening, starting in late November the historic downtown comes alive with lights, entertainment, food and fun.
The stores are full of gift ideas and shopping selections are expanded with the return of the favourite Farmers’ Market vendors who line Hurontario Street.
On Saturday November 30 at 7:30 pm Sound Investment Community Choir presents their annual Christmas concert, A Wonderful Winter World. This year we celebrate both winter and the festive season with a wonderful selection of music and song, including our popular audience sing-along. Join us afterward for refreshments and conversation. Chris Marin, a local artist, has donated beautiful art cards. The art cards can be used for Christmas cards, birthdays, notes to friends or even be given as gifts!
The community is invited to Hope Chapel's Christmas Craft and Bake Sale in support of Hope Chapel's Community Cupboard. The Community Cupboard provides free supplemental help for those in need for food, clothing, toiletries, cleaning supplies and small household items. This year's event will feature local vendor crafts, baked goods and cafeteria meal by Hope Chapel volunteers, silent jewelry auction (costume and sterling silver items) as well as a Christmas-themed pieced quilt raffle.
