Deputation Request Form
If you wish to make a formal presentation to a Standing Committee or Council, you must first submit a Deputation Request Form, to Clerk Services at clerk@collingwood.ca or at Town Hall, 97 Hurontario Street, Collingwood, by 4:00 p.m., the Tuesday prior to the Committee of the Whole Meeting or Council meeting you are requesting to attend.
If your request is approved, you will be provided 10 minutes to address the Standing Committee or Council and be provided the opportunity to enhance your presentation with handouts or a presentation such as PowerPoint, and would be listed as a formal deputation on the public agenda for that meeting. All presentation materials to accompany your deputation, if approved, are required to be provided to Clerk Services at clerk@collingwood.ca by noon Friday prior to the meeting you have been schduled to attend.
The Mayor and Clerk of the Corporation of the Town of Collingwood reserve the right to refuse or defer any deputation at any time. Council may not be required to answer any questions in regards to the deputation as it is strictly for information purposes only and not intended for discussion. If discussion is required it is the discretion of Council as to when that discussion will occur.
Where a matter may require more urgency than can be accommodated through the scheduling of an oral submission, please be advised that Council or the Administration may be able to deal with your concern, information or request more immediately if it is communicated by other means. This may be done by letter, fax, email, telephone or personal meeting. As always the choice is yours and we welcome your input.
Committee of the Whole meetings also allow for an open public delegation period where no formal submission is required. During this portion of the meeting you are provided with 5 minutes to address the Standing Committee. No accompanying visual presentations are permitted during this portion of the agenda.

Please note: As protocols that were put into place in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 are slowly being lifted, all meetings are transitioning to a hybrid production with Council participating in the Council Chambers. The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has provided some guidance to municipalities in regard to holding council meetings and has requested that all public participation remain remote at this time. Please review the protocol for public participation to learn how you can participate in any of the Town of Collingwood meetings during this time.
