The Town has been working on a lighting retrofit project to switch all its lights to LED. To date, 12 Town buildings, including the Arenas, Centennial Aquatic Centre, Town Hall, and Operation Buildings, are complete! Two remaining facilities are scheduled to be updated this year.
These upgrades have significantly improved the lighting levels and will enhance the Community’s experience by improving visibility and safety.
It is estimated that with the facilities already completed this year (and the two remaining), the Town will save 369,833 KWh/year of electricity and $82,173.41/year in utility and maintenance costs!
Incentives through the SaveOnEnergy Retrofit Program and the Canada Community-Building Fund helped to make this possible.
