The 2023 budget confirms Collingwood’s commitment to enhancing the recreational trails and active transportation routes, including:
- $450k for the engineering work and a new bridge on Hen and Chickens Boardwalk.
- As part of the ongoing trail maintenance, several trails will see resurfacing.
- $200K budget for crosswalks to improve pedestrian safety.
These are just a few of the many improvements to the trails that are now underway.
With late winter and early spring ahead, the trails can be icy, so whether biking spiking, hiking or walking especially on bridges and boardwalks, please stay safe, wear proper boots with cleats, and bike carefully.
