The Town of Collingwood is undertaking watermain improvements on Highway 26 that will have

some impacts on motorists and neighbouring residents. The following information outlines the project and its impacts, and the enclosed map identifies the area of impact.

Project Details

Location: Highway 26 from Princeton Shores Boulevard to Waterfalls Lane
Schedule: Anticipated start on October 14, 2025, to estimated completion in December 2025
Scope: Installation of CIPP Lining in the watermain; replacement of existing fittings and gate valves; replacement of existing fire hydrants; concrete curb and gutter restoration; roadway restoration; restoration of driveways and boulevards.
Consultant: R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited (Burnside)
Contractor: COREAQUA div. FER-PAL Construction Ltd.

How will the project impact you?

Pre-Construction Activities

The Contractor will be conducting a pre-condition survey to verify the existing conditions of properties near the work area. There is no cost and no obligation to the residents or property owners. A separate notice will be issued to residents to coordinate the surveys.

Water Services

Conducting the work on the watermain will require a temporary shutdown of affected water services. Notice of water shutdowns will be provided by letter at least 48 hours in advance of water interruptions. As always, water supplied to your residence will be of the highest quality and safe to drink.

Site Access

Work occurring within the roadway area of the project limits will have temporary traffic control measures in place; road closures are not anticipated, but are possible. Your driveway will be accessible at the end of each workday unless otherwise notified by the Contractor. Pedestrian access will be maintained. We encourage residents with mobility limitations to contact the project team listed below so their specific needs can be addressed. Emergency access (police, fire, and medical response) will be maintained at all times.

Noise and Dust

Residents and property owners should expect some noise and dust during construction activities; however, efforts will be made to minimize disruption as much as possible.

How can Homeowners Help

Homeowners are encouraged to notify Burnside and/or the Town of any sump pump or downspout discharge pipes, subdrains, sprinklers, underground dog fence, etc., that may be located within the road allowance and/or may be disturbed during construction. Also, at some point prior to construction, homeowners should remove all private landscape features within the road allowance.

Work Hours

Generally, work will take place between 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. No work is expected on weekends or outside of daylight hours. Work will not take place during statutory holidays unless an emergency occurs. Advance notice of any weekend or holiday work will be provided whenever possible.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
