Pre-Consultation Development Review Team Meetings (DRT)

Pre-Consultation Development Review Team Meetings (DRT) are conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams. Attendees will receive a meeting request with a link to access the meeting.  Attendees are invited to discuss their proposals with internal and external review agencies.  Click the button below to access the pre-consultation development review meeting information. 

Register and Activate your secure CityView user profile on the CityView Portal.

1.  Proposal is received and reviewed by the assistant to planning services for checklist items.

2.  Upon payment, it progresses to an internal review for assessment.

3.  At the internal assessment a TOC planner is assigned and the project proposal will be circulated for review by internal and external parties.

4. The proposal is circulated for review with a request for a 15-day turnaround, we take into account weekends, statutory holidays, and summer vacation times. 

5. Pre-Consultation Development Review Team Meeting is held and (DRT) conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams.  The applicant and/or agent will be sent a direct link to the meeting request before the DRT virtual meeting. Internal and possibly external review agencies will be at the meeting to discuss the subject proposal(s).

The Town requires electronic files of the planning application proposal.  We do not accept CDs or flash drives as these are not acceptable file storage formats.  Register for the CityView Portal for all these needs

Town Staff may provide comments in advance of a pre-consultation meeting depending on the nature of a project proposal. The comments associated with the pre-consultation application are intended to support the first submission proposal. Any pre-consultation notes provided are preliminary only, intended for discussion, and do not constitute final pre-consultation notes until the applicant has received a finalized application checklist from Town staff including any revisions or corrections to these comments and any relevant meeting details as may be provided. 

Pre-consultation applications need to be completed or re-completed if they are older than 6 months, in the event of property ownership change, a revised or different proposal, legislative change, or in any other case where so warranted by the Director of Planning and Building Services or the update requirement waived by the Manager of Planning and Building Services.

The Owner/Applicant/Agent acknowledges and agrees that all costs incurred by the municipality processing this application will be borne by the payee/applicant as deemed fit by the Municipality. In addition, the Town may require further or other reports that it determines necessary to address such exceptional circumstances which may or not be sent directly to the agency or third-party reviewer as described and implemented by Official Plan Amendment #16,  these may include but are not limited to, engaging peer review consultants to evaluate the proposal, and supporting documentation these resulting submission fees shall also be borne by the payee/applicant.
