Fight the Phrag! Help us remove invasive phragmites in Collingwood!

Help us remove invasive Phragmites from the shoreline of Wyldewood Cove, a part of Collingwood's globally rare Great Lakes Coastal Marshes!

Join NVCA in partnership with the Escarpment Biosphere Conservancy (EBC) and Wyldewood Cove Condo to remove invasive Phragmites from the coastal marshes. EBC’s Wyldewood Cove nature reserve is considered a Provincially Significant Wetland known as the Silver Creek Wetland Complex, and supports wildlife habitat, including those of endangered and threatened species. Phragmites australis (European Common Reed) is an invasive perennial grass that is spreading rapidly throughout Ontario, causing severe impacts in our communities and ecosystems.
