Local Government Week

Collingwood Council has joined with partners such as the Association of Municipalities of Ontario and the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO) in acknowledging and celebrating the work and dedication of local municipalities, our volunteers and our resident engagement, by proclaiming October 19 to 25, 2025, as Local Government Week.

Local Government Week is an opportunity to reflect on the services delivered by municipal governments and to learn more about how municipalities play a vital role in shaping the character, priorities, physical makeup, and quality of life of communities across Ontario.

Several opportunities are planned to recognize and highlight the role of municipal government during Local Government Week:

•    October 19-26 - Local Government Week Selfie contest. Throughout Local Government Week, snap selfies at three different locations that show how you connect with your local government for a chance to win a tour of the iconic Collingwood Grain Terminals! Whether you’re at a Town facility or your favourite local landmark, show us what you think makes Collingwood a great place to live, work, and play! Must be 18 or older and a resident or taxpayer in the Town of Collingwood to qualify. Official entry form and terms and conditions are available at: https://www.collingwood.ca/form/lgw-selfie-contest.

We also invite you to share your Collingwood pride by posting your selfies on social media and tag @townofcollingwood on Instagram or @towncollingwood on Facebook and adding #CollingwoodLGW.
