The Town of Collingwood is preparing to begin the Asphalt Resurfacing project on High Street between First Street and Sixth Street. Work is scheduled to begin on September 29, with an anticipated completion date of October 17, 2025 (weather permitting).
The work involves milling the existing road surface and applying new surface asphalt to improve the quality of the roadway.
This construction will temporarily affect roadway accessibility, property entrances, business access, on-street parking, transit, and cause disruptions to traffic. It will be our priority to help minimize these impacts, and our contractor will manage traffic flow throughout the work zone. However, we kindly ask for your patience and courtesy during the construction period.
Please note that temporary lane closures, lane shifts, and reductions are expected. Regular traffic patterns will be affected, so please expect delays and prepare accordingly.
Future infrastructure improvements for this section of High Street, including a new wide multi-use trail on the west side and a sidewalk on the east, road infrastructure upgrades, including water main, sanitary sewer, and storm improvements, are still being planned for future years. These enhancements will improve safety, accessibility, and long-term infrastructure reliability for the community.
