Notice of the Passing of an Amending Development Charges By-Law by the Town of Collingwood

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Town of Collingwood passed an amending Development Charges By-law No. 2026-008 on the 18th day of February 2026, under Section 2 of the Development Charges Act, 1997 (the Act).

AND TAKE NOTICE that the by-law is not appealable to the Ontario Land Tribunal based on Section 19 (1.1) of the Act. The schedule of development charges in the Town is not changed by the amending by-laws.

The amending by-law provides for the following changes:

  • Amending By-law 2026-008 (being a by-law amending 2024-050) – Addition of an exemption for temporary or seasonal structures, including a seasonal air supported structure as defined in the amending by-law
  • Amending By-law 2026-008 (being a by-law amending 2025-024) – Addition of an exemption for temporary or seasonal structures, including a seasonal air supported structure as defined in the amending by-law

The Town’s current development charges schedule remains in effect and can be found on the Town’s website.

No key map is provided as the amending by-law applies to all lands located in the Town of Collingwood. Copies of the Town’s Development Charges By-laws are available for examination by appointment in the offices of the municipality located at 97 Hurontario Street, Collingwood, Ontario, and on the website at https://www.collingwood.ca/council-government/budget-taxes/development-charges
