
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Town of Collingwood passed Development Charges By-law No. 2026-034 on the 4th day of May 2026, under Section 2 of the Development Charges Act, 1997 (the Act).
AND TAKE NOTICE that the by-law is not appealable to the Ontario Land Tribunal based on Section 19 (1.1) of the Act, as the amendment decreases the amount of development charge that is payable for one or more types of development.
The charges in the By-law will apply to all new residential and non-residential development, subject to certain terms, conditions, and limited exemptions as identified therein.
The development charges were calculated on a Town-wide basis and are levied against new development to pay for the increased capital costs related to the provision of Water Treatment Plant Services. No key map has been provided as the by-law applies to all lands within the Town of Collingwood.
Schedule 1 below provides the new residential and non-residential development charge rates for Water Treatment Plant Services applicable throughout the Town of Collingwood.

The development charges imposed under the By-law came into effect on the 4th day of May 2026. Copies of the complete Water Treatment Plant Development Charges By-law are available for examination by appointment in the offices of the municipality located at 97 Hurontario Street, Collingwood, Ontario, and on the Town’s website.
