The Town of Collingwood (Town) is currently undertaking a Master Mobility and Transportation Plan

(MMTP) with its consultants EXP Services Inc. (EXP) to enhance its existing transportation network. The MMTP will provide the long-range planning necessary to identify needs, establish priorities between vehicles, active transportation (e.g., cycling, trails), and transit, and provide a planning framework for future infrastructure improvements and network development. The MMTP will provide strategies for addressing localized problem areas or desired enhancements within the larger transportation network, as well as crafting policies both for effective management of the network as a whole and for evaluating ongoing requests for traffic calming and controls.
The Process
This study is being undertaken in accordance with Approach #1 of the Master Planning Process, as outlined in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) (March 2023). As such, both the MMTP and ATP will generally address Phases 1 and 2 of the MCEA process and will recommend transportation infrastructure projects that will be identified within the MMTP.
Consultation
Following the Public Information Centre (PIC) #1 for the MMTP that took place in March 2024, PIC #2 for the MMTP will be held. The upcoming PIC will outline the project’s purpose and goals, present findings from the background review and technical assessments, outline relevant policies, plans, and guidelines, and gather public and stakeholder feedback. This PIC is being planned to gather additional feedback on transportation infrastructure in the Town. PIC #2 will take place as follows:
Date: Monday, September 8, 2025
Time: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Presentation: 5:30 p.m.
Location: Collingwood Public Library, 55 Ste. Marie Street Collingwood, ON (Community Rooms B & C)
The PIC will provide an opportunity for the public and stakeholders to provide input and comments. Comments on PIC #2 will be received until September 24, 2025, on the project’s Engage Page, where you can also subscribe to stay informed on project updates and further engagement opportunities.
