

The Town of Collingwood is undertaking a Schedule B Class Environmental Assessment for a new raw water intake at the Raymond A. Barker Water Treatment Plant (WTP).
The Raymond A. Barker WTP is located at 2 Raglan Street. The Town of Collingwood wishes to identify the preferred solution to provide a secure and reliable source of drinking water to the WTP while addressing ongoing operational and maintenance constraints experienced with the existing intake.
This project is being carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act and will include identification and evaluation of alternatives, with consideration for environmental, social, cultural, financial, and technical impacts and mitigation measures.
Consultation with the public, Indigenous Communities, regulatory agencies, and stakeholder groups is a key element of a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment study. Notification of the future Public Information Centre will be advertised in local media and on the Town’s website.
