As of 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, the Town of Collingwood's Fire Danger Rating is Extreme, and a Fire Ban is in effect. The Collingwood Fire Department and neighbouring Fire Departments in Wasaga Beach and Clearview made the decision in the interest of community safety, reflecting ongoing dry conditions and increased risk of wildfires within the municipalities. The lack of significant rainfall has created very dry conditions, increasing the potential for rapid fire spread. All residents and visitors should be highly vigilant and adhere to these restrictions to protect themselves and the community.

While the complete fire ban and Extreme Fire Danger Rating are in effect, all forms of open-air burning, including for cooking and warmth, are prohibited. This includes charcoal barbecues at Sunset Point Park. Violations may result in charges and fines.
The Collingwood Fire Department will reassess the weather and environmental conditions next week; expect the fire ban and extreme fire danger rating to be in place until further notice.
