Supportive Rapid Re-Housing Program Project

The County of Simcoe is working with the Town of Collingwood to establish a temporary housing facility to operate a Supportive Rapid Re-Housing Program (SRRP) in Collingwood. The initiative aims to provide services, housing and support to individuals who are facing situational homelessness and helps to place them into permanent housing within 180 days. The SRRP gives individuals wrap around, in-house support to find and integrate into permanent housing successfully. This is not a shelter, it's a temporary home for individuals as they prepare for independent living situations. 

A modular, pre-built structure will be placed on The Common Roof property located at 197/199 Campbell Street in Collingwood (home to 6 community based non-profit organizations and groups). The County will enter a contract with a qualified agency to provide comprehensive, 24/7 on-site services, staffed with trained professionals. 

Participants of the Collingwood SRRP will be prioritized through the By-Name list, a part of the County's Coordinated Access System.
