The Town of Collingwood is committed to reconciliation with Indigenous peoples through meaningful action and community engagement. Central to this commitment is the Awen' Gathering Place, a space along Collingwood’s waterfront dedicated to honoring the presence and cultures of First Nations in Southern Georgian Bay. Designed in collaboration with Indigenous architects, educators, and artists, the sculptural pavilion creates opportunities for engagement of Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples while fostering reconciliation through education and conversation. Reflecting this same commitment, The Town of Collingwood actively hosts and participates in initiatives and events that support truth and reconciliation.
